Door County, Wisconsin in the winter.

My SO and I are going to Door County, Wisconsin next month for the weekend. We love the lake and nature, but we're curious about what else there is to see and do there in the off-season. Bonus points if it can reasonably be considered romantic. Thanks!

Best answer: There's always wine tasting! If you like sweet and/or fruit wines, that is.

Best answer: Where in Door County, and when?

There are a lot of arty events such as concerts, gallery shows, etc. Here's the Sturgeon Bay Special Events page, which currently has something the week of Valentine's Day and not a ton else. But you'll probably have more options closer to your vacation time.

I don't know much about Door County, but I've worked with tourism folks in the northwoods areas. So you might have options such as snowshoeing, birdwatching, iceboating...

I bet you 10 bucks there's a meat raffle happening somewhere :D

Response by poster: We'll be there over the weekend of the 13th-15th, so yes, during Valentine's Day. I don't have a specific area nailed down; we're definitely willing to travel around a little bit. Thanks!

Ummm... did you make your reservations yet? If not, stop what you are doing RIGHT NOW and go do that. Things get booked up quickly for Valentine's Day weekend and hopefully it's not too late for you.

Best answer: How about a cozy meal of fondue at Mr. Helsinki in Fish Creek?
