Did I just ruin these egg noodles?

I just made a quadruple batch of egg noodles (some to use tonight, some to freeze). I forgot to put salt in them (it's called for in the recipe). Will it affect the texture at all, or is the salt optional?

Best answer: The salt is for taste; texture should be fine. You'll want to be sure to salt the water when you cook them.

Best answer: Personally, I've never noticed the difference..... You should be fine.... (You're talking about store bought noodles, right?)

Best answer: Be generous with the salt in the cooking water & you should be OK.

Best answer: They're going to be okay so long as you salt the water. mmmm. Homemade noodles.

Best answer: Think of salt as a flavor-booster. Without it, the noodles will taste a bit dull. So, as others said, be generous with the salt in the boiling water.
