Been playing around with hairstyles today trying to get something that works well with my faceshape. What do you guys think I should go for in the new year? PHOTOS: http://imgur.com/a/QeMBT

It may be impolitic to say so, but you're so damned cute, just about anything works for you. Probably not a full head-shave at this point (you're too young to go for that), but otherwise? There isn't one style that makes you look bad at all.

I am a fan of the bangs look. Also, what xingcat said.

I like the bangs look too. You could even go a little longer and shaggier.

I prefer the middle one, would like it a bit looser and messier though

Thirding picture 2, I think it suits your face shape best (though all are nice).

I like the bangs, too. I also think you could grow it out a little bit, like radioamy and KateViolet said.

Yep, the middle picture.

Bangs.

I have no idea what it's officially named, but you would look pretty good having the sides of your head shaved and just having hair on top.

Mohawk, for sure. Let go of your pretty boy looks and announce to the world you are not to be trifled with.

Bring the pain in 2015! Or just look like you will.

well, what xingcat said. They all look good--basically anything would look good on you. Agreeing with everyone else: bangs, messy, loose. Something you can just run your fingers through and be done with.

Response by poster: Sweet, bangs it is.

Should I go darker to butch it up a bit?

Fauxhawk? Yes, that would look good. But I also like the bangs.

I think the second, or anything else that's on the tousled, messy side, works better than the sleek, well-defined ones. The first is fine but kind of boring and conservative. The third is unflattering in the way it seems to be exposing your scalp, and it's too self-consciously stylized.

If you're going with a new style, why not change colour for fun? It's hard to tell your skin colouring from the photos, but perhaps some sort of darkish auburn shade? Maybe with fun highlights if you roll that way.

Fauxhawk? Yes, that would look good.

Fauxhawks are so four years ago. In Toronto, anyway.

No, I think littlesq meant this.

A fauxhawk would be this. He doesn't have the sides of his head shaved. (Note: he also has a similar head shape.)

Wow, undercuts! I remember when they were a big thing circa 1992! You could go retro that way.

I like the bangs, but with more of an undercut back and sides.

They all look pretty great and effortless, which is always important for hair in general imho, but I think the second one is my favourite.

YES the Undercut is what I meant, thanks John Cohen.

FWIW undercuts are super popular right now. At least if the streets of San Francisco are to be believed. OP could definitely pull it off as long as there is some forward pouf/movement.

Yeah I was going to suggest an undercut on the back and sides and keep the bangs - I'm a lady with that type of haricut and keeping the back and sides buzzed means I can go longer between haircuts. As a dude you can buzz shorter than I can. Get some texture built into the top and front. Pinterest has lots of good photos of undercuts.
