Crafters, what's the best glue to glue an acorn nut made of dry Fimo Air Basic air-dry clay to the underside of an acorn cap? Is hot glue good enough?

I have hot glue and it's easy and is my go-to craft glue but I've read various other recommendations. For something the size and weight of an acorn made from this kind of clay, would hot glue be enough to permanently bond to a real acorn cap or do I have to go buy something else?

If an Acorn is wood and clay is ceramic, Thistothat.com, one of my favorite sites in the universe, suggests this.

It depends on what you're going to do with it. If you just want to use it as a decoration, hot glue should be fine. Hot glue is fine for a great many projects, even if it's not necessarily the most durable glue in the world. If you want to make sure that this clay acorn and real acorn cap are going to stay stuck together for ever and ever, use E6000 or Gorilla glue or something, but if this is a fairly standard crafty project, hot glue will be fine.

I like E6000 for all glue needs, though I've never tried it for that precisely.

e6000 is also my go-to. Pretty sure I first read about it in a Fimo clay blook.

Oh also I find that hot glue is not great for nonporous materials. It's best with fabric or the like, something it can really dig into. Otherwise it ends up popping off.

For years I only brought out epoxy for big tasks. I thought it was a huge deal to mix up, even with those dual syringe packages.

Then I got some from my hardware store packaged in little squeeze bottles. Take a plastic yogurt container cap, squeeze out two equal length lines, mix up with a toothpick (small quantities) or bamboo skewer, voila: Appropriate sized quantities of 5 minute epoxy on demand.

And epoxy would be perfect for this application.

I would try a product called Weldbond. I learned about it in a mosaic class but this glue is great for everything.
I have seen it at Michaels, Joann's, and places like Home Depot.
