Rehoming stray kittens in Brooklyn on short notice

There are kittens in the yard! Very tiny, very cute, very stumbly kittens. Unfortunately, they cannot stay where they are. Looking for help in rehoming them in NYC.

We are having a hard time finding a service / shelter / rescue who will actually rehome the kittens. I'm not sure if this is due to a real lack of resources (seems doubtful given all the adorable cat foster blogs I see based out of NYC), lack of knowledge about the animal rescue system here or simply not knowing what to Google. Keeping the kittens where they are for any real length of time isn't an option due to severe allergies.

We can get people together to help trap and transport, but don't know where to go after that. What specific NYC animal shelters, vets and fostering groups should we get in touch with? Bonus points if these resources are in Brooklyn and are ones you have worked with and trust.

Thanks so much!

p.s. I apologize for the lack of photos; extremely bad manners I know

Memail me. I have a few close friends in Brooklyn who are well connected to cat rescues, shelters, vet clinics, and the like. One person I have in mind has fostered stray kittens and found homes for them herself/with the help of her various NYC Cat Connections. I would 100% vouch for her. I also happen to know that she's in the city this weekend and potentially available at short notice.

Can't speak on terms of the finding shelter front, but I rescued my cat from Infinite Hope, a Brooklyn based shelter that I have nothing but great things to say about.

I adopted my kitties through the rescue group Brooklyn Animal Action, and they are wonderful and very committed to their cats.

City Critters is another good NYC rescue org.

Yeah but rescues have very finite space and near infinite demand. The better the rescue the more limited the space, the greater the demand. If you offered one enough money you might persuade one, but your best bet is to find a people to foster. Asking Metafilter is a good start.
