Wishlist Sites that have Category Subheadings (Similar to Kaboodle)?

So I used to use Kaboodle, but it's plagued with bugs lately, and I can't access my account or my wishlists-- or make a new account. Does any one know of a Wishlist website that lets you add and sort subcategories/subsections when adding items? (Bonus points: Has a bookmarklet/browswer button).

The thing I liked about Kaboodle, is that it let you do subheadings on your wishlist. So I could group items under them and sort them by section, too. When you added an item (either via the site or bookmarklet browser button), it gave you an option of adding it under a subheading of your creation, such as 'Apparel' or 'Jewelry' or 'DVDs' That way I'd keep everything grouped, instead of having it all over the place. Example: here.

I added all the 'Tops, Bags' etc subcategories myself, and it gives me an option to add to an existing subsection or create another. I really liked this feature of Kaboodle, and I'm looking for the same kind of thing-- I'd use Kaboodle if I could, but the website proper is glitching out all over the place for me and is unusable. (Support seems to not be able to do anything about this; I've already contacted them days ago).

I can't for the life of me find a similar website; I've tried Amazon, BoxedUp, WantsThis, Wishlistr, etc. They all work absolutely fine, but they don't allow me to add items to a subcategory like I would like or sort my lists. I know it's a long shot, but does anyone know of something like this?

What about Pinterest? You could have a board for each category.

There's also Dropmark

Do you want it to be visual or just text-based? I'm not familiar with how Kaboodle's actual lists appear - does it have a photo of the item, then the text and link?

Response by poster: Hmm, I didn't think about Pinterest. I wanted to avoid making multiple lists or boards, though.

I'll check out Dropmark.

It has a picture, and a description-- a lot like the amazon one. Here's a screenshot from their support page: here. It shows a bit of how the list comes up, the sub headings would have been on each item group, if one wanted.

So visual and text, would be ideal. I'm thinking I'll just have to wait and see if tech support can get the site back.

Thank you for the reply.

Not sure what you mean by avoiding making multiple lists. Is it that you want to see everything on one page, just organized by category?

The Pinterest bookmarklet works the same way as your current bookmarklet. When you click to "Pin" something - it asks which board you want it in. You'd create the boards (tops, shoes, bags, etc.) you want, and each pin would be sent to the appropriate board.

It looks like there are a few other "wishlist" oriented sites available, most of which have multiple lists available:
Wish
Whimventory - the Universal wishlist - this looks buggy to me
Wishlistr: Create a wishlist and share it with the world

Also - on Amazon, you could just create a few different wishlists and share those. Maybe not ideal, but I like the idea of going with a stable platform - either Pinterest or Amazon, as they are less likely to go out of business in the middle of the night.

Response by poster: Yes, one page, and you can organize by category, but also organize the list itself. You wouldn't need to make multiple boards, or multiple wishlists. For example, if you did a 'DVD' wishlist, you could subcategory by genre within the same wishlist.

It just made it easy to group things together; and much easier to give the link out to friends and such rather than giving out a ton of Amazon wish list links.

I tried Whimventory, and Wishlistr (and mentioned it) and it doesn't have categories or sub categories for those wondering.

Gotcha. While you wait for tech help from Kaboodle, or other recommendations, I'd make sure all of your organized lists are backed up. Those little bugs and errors can sometimes be a good hint that the site is about to be shuttered or otherwise removed from active development. Even if you copy and paste everything into a Google Doc just as a backup, you won't lose the order and organization... good luck!

Linkagogo.com is for bookmarking, but it has a public view of what you allow to be public. Not only can it have subcategories, but the same entry can appear in multiple categories.
