Looking for bar or restaurant in St Marks on Thursday night.

I'm trying to plan a small get together near work in SoHo (I work near Mercer & Houston) but don't know the area too, too well. St. Marks, just a walk away, seems like the best bet as far finding good choices but anywhere in or around the neighborhood works.

Basically somewhere casual and not too expensive... and it's possible we'll have a couple of underage people with us so while I definitely prefer bar I'm also looking for restaurants as alternatives.

There are actually closer options.

1. Cafe Habana is just 3 blocks from where you are, on Prince and Elizabeth; it's a fun and funky Latin American place. You'll be able to get beers and margaritas, but there's also non-alcoholic options, and a decent food menu. Casual but fun.

2. Second Avenue running from Houston all the way up to about St. Marks also has a TON of options, depending on what you're in the mood for. I've had everything from wine to gelato to Moroccan to Ukranian food on that street.

3. Great Jones Cafe is on Great Jones between Bowery and Lafayette, and has a southern-food menu with beers and wine.

4. Swift Hibernian Lounge is a fairly decent "Irish" bar with decent pub grub. That's on 4th between Bowery and Lafayette.
