Online bridge

I'm trying to find a way that I can play bridge with specific people online (preferably for free). While visiting my hometown I started playing bridge regularly with some of my family members. Now I have moved away and we would like to continue over the internet. In my googling I've found sites that have online bridge with real players, but I haven't found anything specifically saying that you can choose those players yourself. Does anyone have any experience with this?

Best answer: Bridge Base is the best place to play bridge online. It's free, and you can absolutely choose your opponents / create private tables.

Yes, Bridge Base (BBO) is definitely the gold standard for bridge online. I'm part of a 4-person bridge table from college and we still play on BBO occasionally by setting up a private table. It's free to play with 3 other specific people or with 1 specific partner + 2 random players; I think you have to pay to play with robots, although I don't have much experience on that front.

nthing BBO. I played with my regular partner all summer when he was laid up after surgery and couldn't make it to the club.
