Cheap indoor "searchlights" for a party

We're throwing a hollywood-themed party, and we'd like to have 2-4 plain white spotlights moving across the walls. To my surprise, though, I can't find anything like that for under at least a thousand dollars, even in the DJ lighting world. We don't need anything super bright or controllable, just little oscillating LED lamps. Would rather stay under $50. Please help!

LED flashlights attached to oscillating desk fans. $50, maybe?

small moving head LED wash lights are very cheap.

I mean that's probably a hunk of shit, but still. They have gotten cheap. Poke around your towns AV rental places, you can likely rent a couple and either a board or just a USB to DMX adapter and some readily available FOSS program to run the lights in a simple loop.

It would shock me if just renting two lights was more than $50. And this is really the type of thing to rent, rather than buy.

Amazon sells some small CREE LED flashlights for less than $4 w/ free "slow boat from China" shipping. They'll run off a AA battery for an hour or two.

Use an oscillating fan or Rube Goldberg a scheme to make them move.

Home Depot and Lowes have lots of hand-held spot lights. (They are not sold as flash-lights, because they are truly spot-lights.)

There is this one. And this one. And this.
You can try them out in the stores.

After the party, these are useful to own anyway. Better than any flashlight and re-chargeable.

I'd just attach some lights to fans that move back and forth. A little ghetto maybe but it's cheap and would work.

Maybe one of those spinning disco balls but cover up some of the light holes to get the effect you want?
