Need something to replace Picture Frame ona n ipad 2

I need to run a looping slide show of photos on my ipad 2 (IOS 8), that when someone touches the screen, it asks them for a passcode. No passcode? Continue with slideshow. You know, a basic locking picture frame. Free or Paid app recommendations requested.

IOS 6 USED to do exactly this, but it was removed in the IOS 7 upgrade. It was a perfect feature that I used at trade shows to have a nice slideshow of products on that coupldnt be messed with.

hey, Apple, it's because you pull horses#!+ that I've never been willing to commit to you as my desktop or laptop provider.

Thanks in advance!

This is exactly the thing jailbreaking and installing incarcerapp would do perfectly. Any slideshow app, including the built in one that I think is still part of the stock photos app where it just slideshow an album or even the keynote app with a slideshow, and then when you try and quit it, it either does nothing waiting for a special button combo or directly asks for a password.

But, of course, you can't jailbreak iOS 8 yet and they just took away the ability to downgrade back to iOS 7.

I remember the feature you mean too, I have no idea why they took it out. And keep in mind I mostly posted this so that in a month or two when an iOS 8 jailbreak comes out, you can install it. This is likely your only real solution.

Best answer: "Guided Access" under Settings>General>Accessibility will let you prevent anybody from leaving an app without entering a passcode. This wouldn't prevent them from getting into any slideshow settings that can be accessed within the app, though. Guided Access does allow you to lock out touch for portions of the screen, too, but I think those sections are then shown with a transparent grey overlay that would be not-so-pretty for slideshow purposes.

Best answer: Scratch that, you can lock out touch entirely with no overlay shown, so the built-in Guided Access feature should do exactly what you want for the slideshow app of your choosing.
