Where should we go dancing in Berlin?

My wife and I are in Berlin until this Saturday morning (Oct. 4th). We'd like to go Out On The Town (i.e. Drinking and dancing) one night, but there seem to be no end of places to go and I'm kind of at a loss. Can anyone suggest any particular nights/venues/events?

Musically, we tend to like older stuff (80s, funk/soul/disco) but my wife does like a lot of dance music of all kinds and eras. We're both around 40 and, you know, not particularly hip, so keep that in mind. Thanks very much in advance!

Response by poster: I should add that we're staying in the Scheunenviertel neighbourhood, but some travel would be fine.

Nothing offhand, but a quick search turned this up. That guy seems to have been doing nights like that for awhile.

Kalkscheune is a large, popular disco and the crowd skews around 30s/40s and older. It's not hip but it is a bit of local fun and not at all touristy! Differentl music is played in different areas, so you'll get a good mix of hits, 80s, 90s, dance etc.

Here's resident advisor for Friday night.

Skip Berghain, because you won't get in.

Personally, I'd want to check out Tresor, but I like serious techno.
