I'm looking for a site that caters to like-minded travelers and allows one to offer lodging or ask for it.

I've had people stay with me from CouchSurfing.com, for what it's worth, though I haven't used it myself for locating places to stay. There is also The Hospitality Club and Servas.org if you're interested in longer homestays and have a peace and justice bent.

I second Hospitality Club. I stayed in Montreal for a week on a strangers futon, and it was the best trip ever.
