I am thinking of a chicken article...

I remember reading in the popular media about chickens looking at figures on the ground, I want to say it was floor plans, and spending more time looking at the ones that did not make sense somehow (and the article concluded that meant they were puzzling over them because they did not make sense). Do you know what I am talking about and can you help me find it again?

Maybe it was just a dream (I have weird dreams) or an Onion article. I would be even happier with a link to the original research.

This is very much how researchers test human infants' reactions to various stimuli; it's assumed that babies stare longer at unexpected results. Could you have been thinking about babies?
