what is a good online shop for simple original womenswear (wearable to work). new designers or original fashion appart from the brands stocked at most dept stores.(nordstrom/saks, etc..)

Looking to update my wardrobe, looking for good online shops that sells new designers or original fashion that is affordable to midprice (0 to $300). Womenswear that is wearable to work. Simple, original piece with nice construction details. I now shop at off 5th, nordstrom rack, bloomingdales , tj maxx etc.. but it is always the same brands.
Looking for something a little more original.

Of a Kind is pretty dreamy. Some pieces might not be appropriate for work, but most of what they offer is dress up/dress down versatile. I've ordered from them a few times and they always take special care with the packaging and delivery--it's a treat.

I would encourage you to skip the outlet stores and hit the actual stores in the mall. Outlets have special brands that are made just for them. So you'll see more dreck at Off 5th, TJ Maxx, Nordstrom Rack.

If you're a smaller size, I think Anthropologie is worth a look. Their things are gorgeous! Talbots is another store with VERY staid and traditional clothing (all their own brand.) Chicos if your into that. Banana Republic, Ann Taylor (not Loft) are all good for basic work pieces.

Try Revolveclothing.com

You might try Gilt.com, RueLala.com, and HauteLook.com

My favorite European clothing store COS finally ships to the US! Owned by H&M so very affordable (though not as inexpensive as H&M but still in your range).

I cannot get enough of Femme de Carriere by Sandra Angelozzi.

Well made, well tailored dresses & skirts in the $100-$200 range.

I just discovered Juliette Longuet, very French and fresh. It's on the upper end of your range but there's a sale section too.

Piperlime might be just what you're looking for -- designer and non-designer, lots of work-appropriate pieces and collections, most pieces $50-$300, extremely well-curated and original.

Have you looked on Net-a-Porter? They do have $2000 ball dresses but most of their stuff is high-mid workwear (because that is what women spend money on). Try Vivienne Westwood Anglomania or Red Label, Stella McCartney, See by Chloe, McQ by Alexander McQueen. They have a whole workwear section and you can limit the price range to something sensible. They also have a sale site called the Outnet but the stuff on it is a bit weird.

I absolutely love the designs at M M Lafleur. Simple, yet stunning workwear.
