Hideous new bar on Razr M Kitkat Wallpaper. Make it leave?

Just upgraded to Android KitKat on my Motorola Razr M. I use the VU meter wallpaper that comes factory installed and now it has a weird bar across the bottom, sometimes. Does this serve a purpose, and even of so, can I get rid of it?

On updating the software I noticed the bar, and it was gray. It then disappeared for a few days and I was so happy. Now it's back and hot pink and extremely annoying. When I preview that wallpaper in the gallery the bar is there and bright blue. Gah! It doesn't seem to be related to wifi, battery life, notifications, etc. Photo:here

I don't know what it is, but it really looks like it's showing through from behind your current wallpaper. Could you just pull your wallpaper into Paint, expand it to a larger canvas with a black background and, problem solved?

Is it still there if you turn off the wallpaper or assign a different one? Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling the vu meter wallpaper?

Response by poster: It's a live wallpaper, in which the meter really (sort of) works, so I can't alter the image.
