Got good Blog?

My company is thinking about setting up a blog for IT analysts to contribute ideas and talk about our products. Does anyone know good places to find best practices for doing this? Anyone know of good example sites?

Have a look at Corporate Blogging and Intranet blog for some good info on the subject.

Response by poster: Google's Blog looks good. I like that the engineers write the articles and there is email feedback.

I think MediaWiki is the best for "group discussion" boards. It has a real anarchy approach but the flexibility is awesome. I have setup an internal MediaWiki for documenting stuff at work. Everything goes up on the wiki, from meeting minutes, to how to use some random equipment, and procedures.

It can get a little out of hand if you don't trust all your contributors. Also, check out WordPress. WordPress is really quite flexible. There are a LOT of plugins. Mixing and matching plugins can give really good results.

Most blogs (MetaFilter being the exception) are more orientated to publishing content, rather than discussing it internally.
I think you need forum software, not blogging software. I recommend UNB.

Response by poster: Great recommendations for the software. Does anyone else have good examples of corporate blogs? Or blogs where people discuss product ideas?
