Please help me find a term for this strength/endurance concept.

I am looking for a clever descriptive term for the idea of training with a "hardship" that when omitted later, makes you feel super-strong. Like when baseball players put that donut thing on their bats while taking practice swings. (Donuting?) Or when you ride a really heavy bike, then switch to a lighter one. Or practice at high altitudes, and compete at low altitudes. Is there already a term that describes this? If not, I am open to any ideas.

Isn't it a form of resistance training?

"Hobbling yourself" comes to mind, but I have no idea if that's a commonly used term.

Deficit training. I've seen it most often done with calories and with deadlifts.

I heard this referred to as the Song of the Seabee. Probably just a WWII joke.

We, the willing, led by the unknowing, doing the impossible, for the ungrateful.
Have done so much, for so long, with so little..
That we are now qualified to anything... with nothing
.

It always comes to mind as the ultimate archetype of resistance training.

when used expressly for generic training adaptation purposes I def second overloading. Different sports, though, will have specific terms to describe the use of their equipment for such purposes.

examples include swimming in a drag suit or riding a beater bike.
