Best timer app for "reps" -- Android
March 29, 2014 12:52 PM   Subscribe

I am doing physical therapy exercises at home and need to time reps -- like 10 seconds to hold a stretch, then relax for 5 seconds, repeat 10 times. Another stretch: hold for 30 seconds, relax for 5 seconds, repeat 10 times. What's the best Android app for this? (by "best" I am including simple. I don't need a complicated app for weightlifters that's going to confuse me with all kinds of other information) Cheap = Best

I use Seconds Pro (for iphone, but I hope its not much different) for my personal training sessions and its great. I upgraded to the full model so I could save my routines, but I think if you didnt mind setting your timer up each session (not hard/time consuming at all) you could get away with the free version.

Impetus Interval Timer is pretty simple but can actually do a fairly complex set, and the "plus" license, aside from relatively inexpensive, is only necessary for import/export, not to save routines on your device.

I use HIIT interval training timer for my PT exercises. It's not perfect, but it's good enough that I haven't bothered looking for a better one. You can save routines, I name the routines for whatever the particular stretch or PT exercise is. I use the free version, it has ads, but they are not annoying. You can pay la few dollars to get rid of the ads.

Sworkit is super simple and has a free app with preset stretching, cardio, strength routines but with the 99c pro version you can set all the timings yourself. It's awesome!
