How do I make my sweet little bunny fuck off?

Is there a product that will not mark clothing or upholstery but will repel domestic rabbits? How effective is it? We want a new sofa, but we want it because our pet rabbit has trashed our old one.

The rabbit is fairly elderly, and we are going to let her live out the remainder of her life free to roam the house, so relocating the rabbit isn't an option-- we would both rather see her doing what she wants than see a pristine sofa. But we would like a nice sofa nevertheless. The rabbit is fairly old (7), but she might have 5 years left and probably has 2 anyway. Is there anything we can put on the sofa to keep her away?

Response by poster: essexjan, have you used any of those suggestions? And did it keep the rabbit out of the general area or just the specific spot where it was applied?

Response by poster: And also, the ideal product wouldn't repel cats. Because they're fine on the sofa.

I don't have a rabbit, I just Googled 'rabbit repellent furniture' and that's what it came up with.

Googling 'pet rabbit forum' throws up lots of places where you could probably get more detailed information about what does or doesn't work from rabbit owners.

I don't know if this translates to rabbits, but in my experience, the Feliway or Cat Away or whatever don't actually keep the cats off the furniture. It just makes them not care to claw it because it smells a certain way.

if chewing is the problem, try bitter apple, which comes in a variety of forms (spray, cream, etc).
