Had a breakup with longtime stylist and 'are looking for a new one who can deal with the hair of we "over 50's." Should be experienced in working with fine, thinning hair and, especially, covering grey by use of highlighting. No harsh chemicals please. Thanks.

I had tremendous luck with the stylists and colorist at Red7 in Evanston. I can't remember the colorist's name. All of the stylists I saw did great work, and I can't speak specifically to your hair needs, but Matt was able to do great things with my long, frizzy, curlyish hair. It's a Bumble and Bumble salon so their products are pretty gentle.

The salon where I work might be a good fit for you. Natural Elements Salon - 2212 N. Lincoln Ave in Lincoln Park 773.477.2500 We are always looking for color lines that are free of all that is bad and currently are using Paul Mitchell The Color. About covering grey by use of highlighting, you can't. You can only camouflage the grey by use of highlighting. Only hair color designed to cover grey hair can cover grey hair.

Response by poster: Thanks very much. Both sound like great places - the Lincoln Ave location is closer to my house.
