Octopus ceiling fixture?
January 28, 2014 9:13 AM   Subscribe

I'm looking for a ceiling light fixture for my kitchen that has 5 or 6 (or more) cords coming from a central plate, each terminating in a light socket. The cords are long, say 6-8 feet, so that downlights can be hung as desired around the room. I could probably custom fabricate this whole setup myself, but it would be great not to have to. Have you seen anything that looks like what I'm talking about?

I'm also looking for simple conical translucent (plastic?) shades for these bulbs in a variety of colors (yellow, red, orange, turquoise, royal blue). I'm looking for a cheaper alternative to those fancy art glass mini-pendants like these.

IKEA has this one. Only 3 lights though.

West Elm has this one, but the cords aren't nearly long enough.

This is probably a DIY thing.

Looks like maybe Pottery Barn doesn't carry the Edison chandelier any more? Here's what an eBay search turned up.

There's this one from Schoolhouse Electric - you can pick a custom length which might be handy. Or the same thing but in a different finish. They have some others that might work too.
