Can Safari warn me before opening multiple tabs?

When using Safari's Bookmarks Bar, I'll sometimes be navigating quickly and use the command+click (Mac) keys to open a new tab. Sometimes, my mistake, that link turns out to be a folder...and a truckload of tabs open.
1. Can Safari warn before opening multiple tabs? (I see it can warn of CLOSING multiple tabs)

2. Is there a quick way to stop loading all those multiple tabs? and return to the original ones that were open?

Using Safari 5.1

To get rid of the multiple tabs, you should be able to click the back button (or CMD-[ ).
