New Year, New You, New Blogs - how to find them?

I'm sure the 1st of January 2014 saw a spate of new blogs, tracking the writer's progress towards losing weight / learning to code / running a marathon, etc. I think it'd be great to know about some of these, whether by mefites or not, so I could leave encouraging comments - and I'm also selfishly hoping that the recipients might do the same for me! Does anyone have / know of any such blogs?

If you use newsblur as a reader they have a great suggestion and discovery thing...

It seems like those people would also be promoting the new blogs on Facebook, Twitter, etc. so maybe some searching there if you use those services might turn up some leads.

Not everyone's a fan, but you could always check out blogs mentioned in the forums on GOMI.

If, like chasles asks, you use (or want to use) Newsblur, I've found a lot of good reading via the "Global Shared Stories" stream:

I found a lot of great blogs last year from the Weblog Awards site http://2014.bloggi.es (click through the years)- just looking through the lists of the nominees. You might not find the 'comment' part of what you're looking for- they're popular bloggers after all and it might not be so interactive- but many of them have comments from others who have engaging blogs, so you might find some more there! Also, I'm a huge fan of stumbleupon for finding new blogs.

I much prefer interactive blogging too- so I went with a diary site that I won't recommend here because it only sporadically works now- there is a new one that seems pretty popular called prose box where people seem to interact frequently. I haven't used it but it seems 'cozy' if that's the kind of thing you're looking for… although you won't reach as big of an audience for a topical blog, and it might be kind of hard to find people who are working toward the same goals if it's not the typical 'get in shape' kind of thing.
