Help me remember an old loon joke.

There's a joke that I (think) I remember someone doing to me when I first saw a loon. The set up is: "Want to hear a loon call?", which is followed by loudly yelling "HEY LOON! OVER HERE!". Did I imagine this, or is this an actual joke(total dad joke, but I like it)?

I knew a guy who was amazing at maikng duck noises etc and he burned me with this joke a good thirty years ago. I've heard it from a few other people since.

this is in the same joke genus as the old "how do you sell a chicken to a deaf man?"

I first heard this joke as referring to a Canadian Moose Call ("hey moose!"). You definitely didn't imagine it!
