You're Not Lost! I Hope...

I've just spent several hours trying to find addresses and phone numbers for old friends who have relocated. Is there a standard URL to use to find different cities' white pages listings? One that doesn't want to charge me a monthly fee, that is - something that's up to date and free. Thanks, Mefites!

I haven't had any luck finding such a site, but Facebook is my go-to find people from the past. If you can't find the person directly, find other friends who knew th person you're looking for, and ask them. I actually had friends of my parents contact me because they were looking for my parents' address.

Best answer: whitepages.com is not bad. It takes a bit of scrolling to get past all the BS asking you to sign up for services, but the actual info is provided as far as phone number and address. It is pretty up to date.

Intelius lists recent cities for free.

Check and see if your local library has the Reference USA database. It has white page listings that are pretty up to date.

Intelius won't give up the contact information without a charge. Most of them are like that.

Seconding whitepages.com for the US. As long as you have approximate location, you get home addresses that are very up to date. Facebook can often give you approximate locale, then you get home address on whitepages.com.
