What is the best way to see hawks in Flushing Meadows Park, Queens, New York?

I live near Flushing Meadows, a large green park, in Queens NY. I've seen hawks on two separate occassions quite by accident. I love watching the birds of prey and snapping some photos. Can anyone recommend some tips on best means of finding them in the area? I have no idea how to start looking. Where? When? Feed em?

I used to live in Flushing, and I've never seen the hawks, nor a place to spot them or feed them. Please do share your photos if and when you get to take them.

Assuming you live in Flushing and not on the other side of the park, (Rego Park, Forest Hills) you can always go to Kissena Park. Lots more wildlife including voles and chipmunks. Thus more likely to get birds of prey. But more likely smaller hawks, like kestrels are what you're gonnafind there.

And although it is a drive you can always go the Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge. I almost always see birds of prey, ospreys, hawks, kestrels, whatever. Plus October is prime migration season so this is the best time.

I've been bird-watching in NYC my entire life and I actually have never seen hawks in Flushing Meadow Park. That's pretty cool!
