A Christmas in Blue

Anyone have a Dell Laptop with blue trim/blue coloring?

I need the Pantone value for that blue.

Here's the story: My wife became a Realtor this year, and is doing very well at it. Our only problem is my computer. I work from home, so I'm on the computer even in the evenings, and she occasionally likes to use it to check her email or run a comparative market analysis for a client.

She disdains the use of my son's computer as it's a 5 year old Celeron machine attached to the internet via our wireless network. She can't stand the speed difference.

I'd like to buy her a laptop for Christmas, but I want to combine the gift with a nice desk and chair for the office, as well as a photo spread of our kids. I'd like to make it all an ensemble by dressing the kids in a complimentary blue to the laptop, as well as have the desk work nicely with the laptop color as well.

My only problem is that the Dell site shows off a number of blue colors, and I don't know which model of laptop actually has the blue trim. I'd like to get the Pantone value of the blue so I could get a color sample from a paint store, and go shopping for the rest of the items with the sample.

Dell Sales help has been less than helpful. I've emailed and called. Can anyone here help me?

Dell now has brick-and-mortar stores. Presumably they'd have the laptop you're considering and you could go in with color swatches...

You need the Pantone value? You're kidding. You'll never get a match anyway; any deep blue would be more than enough for most people.

To my eye, the closest websafe color is 000099 ("dark faded blue").

Best answer: I just matched up one of the laptops at our office. It *is* a difficult match, especially because it's slightly metallic. As far as I can tell, it's somewhere between 279c and 2718c. It has a very slight purplish tinge to it. YMMV.
