Is there a non-cheesy DVD that will teach me to dance?
I'm looking for a video that will teach me to dance hip-hop. I've been looking online and all ll I can find are hip-hop-inspired exercise DVDs that seem kind of corny. I'm definitely a beginner--I have a little rhythm and danced at clubs as a teenager but it's been a while and I would love to feel really confident in my moves!
I'm not averse to a beginner's exercise DVD like this one if that's the best out there, but I can't help but think there are ones out there that would be a little less "aerobics class" and a little cooler.

No AskMe thread on this topic would be complete without a link to ze, who completely transcends cheese.

Best answer: I searched for hip-hop dance videos a few years back and the best I found was Kelly Peters Make It Happen. The instruction is really well done, well paced and easy to follow. The moves you learn are fun and the teaching methods have been really well thought out. You can tell that he's an experienced teacher.
I don't know how long the link will last, but you can preview it on YouTube.

Response by poster: The Kelly Peters looks really good, as does the YouTube links from xingcat. Thanks--I'll try both.

If you have access to an Xbox 360 and a Kinect, this is exactly what Dance Central will do for you, with the bonus that it's interactive and you get feedback so you can improve your moves. (Disclaimer: I work at Harmonix, which made it.)
