Xmas gift for the Singapore bound

I am looking for a Christmas gift for my 22 year old sister. Next summer she is planning to go to Singapore for a year to join her expat boyfriend.

We live in Europe. I'd like to give her something apropos. She's not planning to bring much more than her clothes so nothing heavy to take along. Perhaps a book about Singapore to help her prepare/build up anticipation?
She's also just getting her driver's licence and is in the process of completing her degree in occupational therapy (and is looking for a job there.) She is outgoing, smart, confident, friendly and mature.
Do you have any ideas?

Best answer: FOOD. Food! Only the Best! The ieat.ishoot.ipost Guide to Singapore's Shiokest Hawker Food is pretty good and available from Amazon, but the one I like to buy for visitors is There's No Carrot in Carrot Cake which has great photographs and explains all the different local foods available here, from Select Books who are a fantastic small bookstore here.

As well as a book on Singapore, get her a Kindle. Best way to travel with lots of books.

Response by poster: Oh wow, viggorlijah, I'm sure she'll love those. It'll probably give her a foodie know how edge over her boyfriend too, which she will enjoy flaunting, haha. Thank you everyone!

Response by poster: By the way, There's No Carrot is also available via Amazon resellers in UK (which is good, because the shipping costs would otherwise be triple the price of the book).
