online communities in Spanish and French

Are there any online communities conducted in Spanish or French that are kind of like Metafilter?
i.e., fairly general-interest; pleasant and interesting people; language that's colloquial but not SMS-speak; etc. Maybe this place would be a message board, or a blog with a particularly engaged and active readership, or whatever; this is less important, as it's more about the feel. Thanks!
Something like this was asked in 2009, but that might as well have been the Middle Ages as far as the internet is concerned, right?
