DIY DSL shell?

I'd like to build a domain specific language for analyzing fantasy football data. Preferably, with a shell like interface. Something analogous to Jira's JQL or python. Or maybe something like the visualization scripting in Graphite?

It's just that I'm not sure where to start. I'm looking into Drools right now, but I'm afraid of the JBoss overhead (I'm more of a Spring guy) . I've got lots of experience as a developer (15 years), but am having a hard time googling for tutorials on building domain specific languages that aren't BPMs. The idea is to have a shell where I can evaluate expressions, and output calculations in a tabular format, perhaps with CSV output for use in graphing applications like Excel.
Anyone know of a good tutorial or walkthrough?
