I need blinking red eyes

How can a non-electrically-inclined person give their GIANT HOMEMADE OUTDOOR SPIDER (aka Halloween decoration) blinking red eyes? Easy/cheap ways preferred.

Here's a picture of my homemade spider
. Her body is made out of a trashcan; her legs are garden stake held together with wood glue, duct tape, and hope. I think the glowing purple lights make her look creepy & hairy even during the day.
We just put her up this weekend; it's her 3rd year out. She needs a little maintenance as her fangs fell out, and her eyes need a new solution. (I actually used fishing floats for both in the past - the styrofoam fang-shaped floats, and the circular floats that light up red when they're pulled. I have no idea how fishing floats became such a central part of the spider.) The circular floats had to be manually activated every day/night and had a tendency to pop out of her body because of their lighting mechanic.
Is there any easy way to achieve red eyes? I would like the eyes to be plug-in-able (so our timer can control them, too) and able to handle the outdoors and rain. The trashcan has some room inside for the mechanics of these eyes (transformers would need to fit here for any LED solution). Thank you in advance for your help scaring those little girls down the street who beg their grandmother to drive them by in the golf cart, so they can scream!
