Personal experience with "non-surgical wrinkle procedures'?

So, over 50, and noting facial cheek and neck wrinkles that make me feel like I look over 60. I've heard about fraxel, laser, collagen. But it's all from advertisements or promotions. Has anyone ever tried these and have good or bad personal or best friend-type experience to share? I wear sunscreen every day and stay out of the sun, I have very pale and somewhat sensitive skin.

I am a bit younger than you, but for a while I was researching botox. I found it helpful to search YouTube; lots of people post before & after videos. You do have to wade through the advertisements, but I found numerous personal videos that helped shape my final decision.

Include in your research "autologous fat injection/transfer" aka microlipoinjection... injecting your own purified fat under the skin of your face.

Best answer: I tried CO2 matrix laser resurfacing, two sessions about six months apart, and people say I look younger than my age, but it's left me with pretty visible pigmentation so I am now uncomfortable going out without full coverage foundation.

If I look at my face in black light the amount of pigment I see where the laser was particularly aggressive is frightening.

My skin doesn't scar particularly easily so I think this has to do with the fact that it gets very sensitive to the sun after the procedure, and even religious sunscreen application and wide-brim hats don't seem to suffice.

In the first period after the procedure I was thrilled, the sun damage that prompted me to undertake the exercise was gone just as the doc had promised. Unfortunately, the results were very short lived.

Best answer: Go to www.realself.com for reviews of cosmetic procedures.

Best answer: Seconding www.realself.com. I always go there to read up on things before trying anything. It's a collection of reviews from everyday people who have had the procedures. And my personal experience with fraxel was that I stopped after one treatment. It just left it with a weird texture, that has since cleared up, but freaked me out enough to not continue.

Best answer: The problem with Real Self is that people tend to post shortly before and shortly after their procedures. I know in my case I originally recommended my procedure because I was so impressed with my results. But I changed my rating over time, first to neutral, then to negative, when I saw that my hyperpigmentation wasn't going away, even after a course of Retin A and prescription hydroquinone.

Best answer: Oh I meant to add about the weird texture, I also had it, and it took many months to clear up. I was convinced it never would.
