Name that reincarnation novel

Trying to name a novel where a couple finds each other throughout different lives/reincarnations by placing newspaper ads.
There were multiple reincarnated characters, who had various theories about why it was happening, but the main story revolved around a male/female couple who would place newspaper ads with a specific text in order to find each other. It isn't The Time Traveler's Wife. I read it at least 5 years ago but it may have been published back in the 80s. Ring any bells?

I re-read Replay just a couple weeks ago and Nthing that is most definitely the novel you're thinking of.

One of my favorite novels ever. Read a couple screenplay iterations as well -- neither do it justice. Would definitely make for a better HBO series.
