What was the halter dress I saw at the festival?

At a recent folk festival, I saw a halter dress made of thin fabric, short, possibly a style the wearer wraps herself. Where can I buy one?
I visited a local arts/history festival today, the kind where all the local artisans set up booths and sell baked goods, pot holders, and wooden signs. One booth sold (presumably) home-sewn clothing, including a halter dress. It came in lots of different fabrics but each fabric was beach-cover-up thin. The dress was about mid-thigh length. The sign describing the dresses labeled them as "salace" or "serode" (not serape) or something like that. That wasn't the brand, but seemed like a type of dress.
MeFites who frequent local festivals, do you recognize my description of the dress? Do you know where I might order one online?

Response by poster: Neither of those...the straps looked like this but the dress was shorter and the price was $25.
I should have just bought one when I saw them!

Could you contact the people running the festival and ask? Assuming they don't have a list of vendors available online anywhere.

Best answer: Could the "s" word have been "surplice"? That's another way to describe necklines that are composed of two slightly overlapping, crossed panels like the one you linked (and pretty common with halter or triangle tops). Might be helpful as a search term.
Agreed that contacting the specific festival is the best bet if you've got your heart set on that specific dress. Surely they'd be happy to help you get what you want and the vendor to make a sale. Without a lot more information it'd be hard to know what you're looking for online. Try searching for "short bohemian halter dress" or something like that?
Sorry you're experiencing "the one that got away" buyer's remorse!

Back in my college days I saw many of them at those sorts of festivals.
