basic monthly wall calendar

I'm looking for the most basic, clean, monthly wall calendar for 2014. Something like the Field Notes calendar (scroll down a bit), but large enough for me to write notes on individual days.

I don't care if it's 12 or 14 or 18 months, but I want it to be very plain, and not too small or too enormous. For the last few years I've been printing out 8.5 by 11 calendar months from a template, but our printer is kaput. Searching for "basic calendar" or "plain calendar" mostly gets me .pdf files. I'm hoping someone here has seen something along these lines which is actually already a calendar.

I have the same problem. I wound up with a white board that I just draw calendars on. I have found that there are a lot of simple designs on etsy that do the job. Here are a few I liked: kraft wall calendar, 12 month wall calendar, personalized wall calendar.

This might be a little more elaborate than you're looking for, but here's one. And here's the story behind it.

What about this one? Also here in a green and yellow tone.

Here's a similar one but a one-page showing/no notes version.

Those are all about 11" x 8.5"

Is a Desk Calendar too big? They are often much larger though, but many can hang on the wall or sit on a desk.

Try googling "teacher's desk calendar". Though those may be too big for your liking, they are quite plain.

You may find something to your liking at Paper Source.

These people who are able to write on glossy calendars, I do not understand them.

Response by poster: Ah, Etsy! don't know why I didn't think of that, those are some nice examples, jessamyn. Of course now I'm thinking I could just design my own and have it printed and bound...

brentajones, that's a really nice design, but I'm not sure if my brain will work without the usual layout. It's a great idea, going to have to think about it.

Thanks, Crystalinne, I like that green and yellow one, and the notes on top is a great idea.

Teacher's desk calenders are sadly too big, but that basic style is what I had in mind.

Thanks for all the suggestions, these are very helpful and I have a much larger pool to choose from than the meager things I was turning up. :)

I've been using this calendar for 3 years and it sounds like it fits the bill. I can enter 3-4 events per day if I have to. Each page is a blank template so you can use every sheet even if you miss a month. I usually hang 2-3 at a time with two small pieces of blue painters tape on the back, but I've got kids and multiple schedules to track.

Have you seen the selection of calendar templates on MS Publisher? I use "understated". You'd have to print it, but since you already said you could have your own design printed and bound, I'm suggesting it anyway.

I could be missing something here but in my part of the world these sort of generic office calendars are everywhere

Maybe I am not understanding the question - I thought these were ubiquitous. Go to Staples.com and search for Calendar. You'll then see a selection box on the side where you can narrow your choices to the size you want, plain or decorated, wall or desk, eco-friendly, specific brand, price range and the number of star ratings from their review pages. I'm sure other office supply stores have a similar selection.
