What colour belt with these shoes?

Short question that has me stumped. What colour belt with these shoes? They are a reddish brown/oxblood colour. I don't own an oxblood belt, must I buy one?

Yes. That belt color is not uncommon because many shoes are burgundy/oxblood/"cordovan".

Dark blue'd be an interesting color to pair, but I think you could swing black if the bottom/heel is black (appears to be?). Obviously matching the oxblood would work, too. And if you're an artsy dresser, green would throw the belt and shoes into high contrast.

I'm careful to not look too matchy-matchy, and besides, oxblood is a very unusual belt color. I have a deeply reddish pair of oxblood wing tips and wear a very dark brown belt. I think a thin black belt would work too. Try to think beyond finding a matching shade and simply hold your belts next to the shoes and see what works. Get something new if you need to, but I'd shy away from getting an oxblood belt.

Burgandy belts can be found almost anywhere, but the color doesn't have to be the same shade of course. I think it looks a better if it's not perfectly matched. I think a silver buckle would be ideal.

I'm also thinking you could pull off a dark brown if in a pinch.

Yes. Those are seriously nice shoes. Don't diminish them with an unmatched "whatever" belt. You don't have to spend $100 at Nordstrom, but do drop $25 at Macy's. (They are having a 15% off sale online this weekend, too.)

I don't know what you're going for. But the shoes have such a business look, you might consider a blue belt for pants to add interest.
