How do I match fabric from a sofa that is no longer manufactured?

I need to find a fabric match for a seat cushion, but the furniture manufacturer doesn't exist anymore. Is there any hope for me?

I need to replace just the bottom cushion cover of a sofa made by a company called Richter Designs. Google tells me this company no longer exists; it was sold in 2006, and the acquirer went out of business in 2011. This comment
suggested to me that perhaps there are fabric manufacturers and sources that are separate from the furniture manufacturers, so I might be able to find the original fabric even if the furniture is no longer made.
How can I go about finding a match for the fabric? Is there a site I can use or perhaps an offline expert I need to involve? I'm interested in all my options, though my main concern is cost here. I'd want to hear about it if it's possible to, say, get an expert to recreate the fabric, but I would prefer options cheaper than reupholstering the entire sofa in a new fabric.
