Could my language learning process be useful to someone?

My favorite way of learning a language is translating text back and forth. Could the translation work of a careful beginner be useful to anyone at all?

I take my time and do my best to follow the grammatical rules perfectly. So when I start to learn a language, while a sentence might take me 10 minutes to write, I think do a pretty good job. But I know, no matter how hard I try and how careful I am, my work would not be useful to anyone who needs translation for typical purposes.
But I was thinking, maybe there are people whose purposes are not so typical. Maybe they just need something translated decently enough, beyond what Google Translate can do, but don't need certainty that it's perfectly accurate. Or maybe someone who has a whole lot of material to translate, needs help, and can't afford a translator.
Do you think anyone could use this kind of work? Obviously it would be free and I could spend several hours a night on it. Right now I'm working on German and Italian but I would be open to any language written with the Latin alphabet.
