RFID for fun and profit

I just got my hands on a Sony Xperia with near field technology. In the box were two Xperia SmartTags. I am exited but lacking inspiration. What can I do with my tags?

I use a number of RFID things, tags for two different doors, buss card, bike-rental card, membership card, but I think they are all pretty secure. All ideas will be considered, not all ideas will be implemented.

If you use your phone for navigation or media in the car, put one there to automatically start car mode, or open your navigation app, or whatever.

Keep one at work to automatically adjust your phone's settings - wifi, bluetooth, ringer volume, etc.

Put one at your bedside to turn your phone ringer down and lower the screen brightness, then have it turn the brightness and volume up again when you tap a second time.

Response by poster: Ah, you mean they are hard-coded to only be used with the app they belong to? Was hoping there might be something a little more "off-label" I could do.

Iteki,

I can't speak to the Xperia SmartTags directly, but this page indicates they will work with excellent, free NFC Task Launcher. So you implement Blue Beetle's "one at home, one at work" strategy by creating tasks in NFC Task Launcher for each location/tag. (turn off wifi, turn on vibrate, etc.. at Work, Turn on Wifi, Turn on sound, etc... at Home - you get the idea).
