A friend is in a bit of a tough spot right now and needs to talk to a therapist as soon as he possibly can. Money is a bit tight right now. I'm looking for all free/low cost therapy options in the Berkeley/Oakland area, who are familiar with depression and burnout.

Best answer: The Berkeley Free Clinic offers peer counseling and referals. They maintain a list of other resources.

The Pacific Center is sliding scale, aimed at LGBTQ people.

Best answer: Check out the student counseling clinics for CIIS, JFK, and the Wright Institute. All have sliding scales that slide quite low.
