Illinois Tollway - Paying for all the missed unmanned tolls

I blew through 3 or 4 unmanned Chicagoland toll booths last weekend. I was unprepared with neither an iPass nor loads of change, and naively thought I could go online and pay what I missed. It turns out I need to identify the date and exact tollbooth I missed. I can't remember, as I was driving all weekend all along the N/NW suburbs. I was in a rental car, and I'd like to avoid the "admin charges," in addition to any possible traffic fines. Any practical advice on what I should do?

I assumed (more like hoped) that I could input my car license plate at illinoistollway.com and just look up what I missed. I paid all the manned booths with dollar bills, but I often lacked the change at unmanned booths where I had to toss either 90c or $1.50 in coins only. I assumed incorrectly, and this has become a bit of a headache.
I want to avoid Hertz dinging me for multiple "admin fees" related to a citation Illinois might issue. I also want to avoid hassle with Illinois, if any. What's my best shot at doing this? I was driving a PA-plate rental car, if that's relevant.
Does Illinois actually pursue these claims? (I assume yes) Do I need to accurately record which tollbooths I bypassed, in the online form? Can I just write them a large-ish check (or charge to credit card) and they'd be OK if that amount were large enough to cover?
The best I've come up so far is to retrace all my driving (easier than trying to recall the individual toll booths) and pay all the tolls I may have missed. That's OK if it works, but I am afraid I might have forgotten a highway or two, or any unforeseen complications from doing this.
