Death by Frosting?

I made some (delicious) coconut-pecan frosting a week ago (Aug. 4). Can I eat this? How much longer will it be edible?

The German choc cupcakes I made to go with this frosting were a huge bummer, so the frosting has been sitting in my fridge since then. It tastes fine, looks fine. My cookbook (Joy of Cooking) says this is good for "about a week." I'm going to make a second go at the cake today, and I'm wondering if I need to remake the frosting as well.
Is my frosting safe?
