Simple free Windows POP email server?

I need a simple POP/SMTP mail server for Windows 2003, free if possible!

I need some more features that the built in mail stuff in windows doesn't have. I really want to keep the mail users separate from the actual Windows users, and i also want to be able to allow smtp relay for a specified time for people who have logged in to their POP account.

Is there anything out there that does all this and is free...? If you have paid for one, is it worth the money?

Thanks!

We used xmail for a test to simulate mail relays on windows; it seems to be rather simple but still usefull. There are also tools available to help manage the server more easily.

Install Cygwin. Sure, there's no GUI, but its free and exim should do everything you need.
