Find my chair

This is a long shot, but I have a chair at work that is extremely comfortable and I would like to buy the same chair for my desk at home. Does anyone recognize this chair and know the brand/model name? Alternatively, where might I be able to find a logo or identifying mark on a chair? (I haven't been able to find one so far, but I may not be looking in the right places on the chair.)

I have already tried Google image searches, including one where I erased the background of the image, unfortunately to no avail. Also, it's highly unlikely that anyone in the office still knows where the chair came from.

Best answer: Wild guess, since one task chair may not be that different from the next, but it reminds me of the task chairs from the Maryland Correctional Enterprises that Maryland govt. agencies (including the state universities) must use to supply their furniture needs.

Looks very much like a basic Steelcase task chair. But all task chairs look pretty similar.

Best answer: And as an additional note, apparently the VA dept. of corrections prison industry program also makes an identical task chair with the same model name (Sterling II). Their picture has a better view of the adjustment levers. Apparently there's a standard set of prison furniture models in use at correctional industries throughout the country.

(Makes me suspect we're offshoring even our prison labor to China.)

Turn it over, and look very carefully for maker marks, contract numbers, and/or model numbers. Chairs of particulars designs/fabrics are often produced in finite sets/runs by foreign manufacturers, against contracts, and subsequently referred to only by contract numbers.

I have one, very like yours, that is a Steelcase Jack, but which might not be yours. Yours could also be an older, discontinued version Kimball chair, very like one I have as my main office chair, which I bought used from a local office furniture dealer, for like $75.

Have you tried looking on the underside of the seat cushion, around where the pedestal fits into the plastic frame on the bottom of the seat?

It looks like a Steelcase Critereon chair (which I use at work and purchased for my home a while back when I found I liked them so much).
