I went to the UK and all I got was this lousy, uh, bath rug.

I'm cheerfully ensconced in a dorm room with its own bath. Yay! But it's one of those showers that just sits off in the corner of a tiny stall, with no real separation from the rest of the wash area. Ergo, water everywhere! So where on earth (OK, in London) can a traveling American get a cheap bath rug? If it helps, I'm right next to Victoria Station. Assume that I can navigate the Tube just fine (but would really prefer not to wander all of London looking for a cheap bath rug).

See if Wilkinsons/Wilko have a store near you.

Best answer: Argos, £3. Pick it out, reserve it, pick it up. The Victoria branch is 5 minutes from you.

I came in to suggest just that, though £3.99 is actually £4.00 (a deal-breaking price difference, indeed!). Though, as this is London, that's about the price of a pint of beer.

Response by poster: Thanks! That will be a brisk walk for me tomorrow morning.

Also an adventure! Argos is its own unique experience; I don't know of any other retail systems like that currently functioning in the English-speaking world. It's more akin to fetching your dry-cleaning than any kind of shopping.

Nthing Argos. Bizarre set up and worth the trip to pick up the catalogue alone.

The selection of engagement rings always boggled my mind.

The answer to this type of question is almost always Argos. Or Wilko, but probably not in central London.
