Where I can I buy bright socks suitable for sock puppets at a low cost?

I'm teaching a summer course for 6-8 year olds on puppetry, and we are making sock puppets. I'm wanting to find affordable, bright socks that are suitable for the task -- stuff I can order on Amazon prime is better. Any recommendations (especially ones that can arrive by the middle of next week) are appreciated!
Best answer: Check your dollar stores - I saw some colorful striped scocks at a local Dollar Tree just this past weekend.

Best answer: Sock Dreams will sell you a bunch of busted fancy socks as the Crafty Bundle. They are extremely fast shippers, generally getting First Class packages out the day of (or the morning after) your order.

Best answer: Happy Socks is having a sale right now. Buy eight, get three free, plus free shipping. Their cheapest socks are about $8 each, I think, but at 8-for-the-price-of-five, that might be in your range.

Also, probably everybody you know has spare socks because the laundry eats 1. Free, and a nice way to recycle. And extra buttons, which are handy for sock puppets.

On the laundry note, you could check with your local laundromat for strays. Also thrift stores, big time.
And if all else fails, buy white and dye batches with Rit dye. I needed a bunch of socks to protect glass jars. Found a ton of white socks for 25-50 cents/pair at the local thrift, and did just this because I didn't want them all looking dirty. Now those socks are all deep green or burgundy.

I recently picked up some super-bright socks at Walmart on clearance ($2/three pairs). Fluorescent colors are back in vogue, if that's the type of 'bright' you're looking for.
Alternatively, if there's a Freecycle in your area, you could post a Wanted.
