Don Was in an Advertisment

I'm searching online for an old magazine ad featuring the musician Don Was sitting on a porch using his computer. I'd guess the ad is approx 8 years old. Google's not helping. Any ideas?

What company was featured in the ad? That could help narrow it down (maybe).

I think it might have been Compaq.

I know the exact ad you mean but i am blanking completely on any details. There was something about it that stuck with me. I am sure it would have been in either PC World or Popular Science or Business Week regularly. It was for an AIO computer, probably Compaq.... I can picture him leaning back on the porch with the computer there, you can see what's on his screen... sorry I can't help more than that. I am pretty sure it was Compaq though. The time period is circa 1992-4.

Yes, that's it. For some reason that little ad had a big effect on me. The message (that I totally got) was - "Making a living using a computer might be cool."

I remember that ad as well and the message also got to me (i.e. what a great job this guy has!). I thought it was an ad for music software though.
