Help me find this movie ...

When i was a kid in the late 70's, early 80's ... i saw, what i think was a movie (could have been a made for TV movie, IDK), on TV.
It was about a bunch of school children living on (what i THINK was earth)... possibly even set in the future. It rained... all the time. And the 1 girl was a bit of an outcast... but she had remembered when it didn't rain (possibly from her childhood maybe being on earth).
One day the sun came out for just a day.... and the other kids locked her in a room... ran out to play in the sun.... and later, forgot they locked her in the room... and at the end gave her a bunch of flowers they all picked ....
I don't remember much more.... wasn't particularly special or anything, but i think my kids would like seeing it.
Any ideas? It's a bit more on the obscure side for sure.....
Adapted for television on an episode of PBS's WonderWorks.

It's in the wiki. It does seem to come up at least once a year.

Yup. Best and most traumatizing short story ever!

Yes--of all the mediocre stuff in our elementary school textbooks, I can clearly remember reading this story and will never forget it!

They were on Ray Bradbury's fantasy version of Venus. (Because Venus's cloudcover must mean it always rains, right?) Another story set there is "The Long Rain," about astronauts that survive a crash on Venus and start a long march through the Venusian jungle, all in constant, non-stop, heavy rain, which drives the men to madness.
