Know of a room for rent on the Oregon Coast? I only really need a place to sleep.

I live in Portland now, but I'll be running a political campaign (for a Democratm if that helps) in the Newport/Lincoln area for the next year or so. I work 12+ hours each day, and I'll spend most weekends in Portland with my fiance. So I really only need a place to sleep on weeknights.

Does any Mefite have a beach house they need watched for the winter? Know anyone? I don't mean to turn this into "rent.com-filter," but it is hard to find roommate situations in small towns.

Um, you have checked craigslist, right? Have you posted anything there?

Yeah, I've checked Craigslist, but the content is almost entirely Portland-related.

OSU has an outpost in Newport with a limited number of dorms. I don't think they would rent one out to you, but it might be worth a phone call. Check out the Hatfield Marine Science Center on the south side of the bay.
